REVAMP Initiative: A Partnership for Progress
The veterinary field is in the midst of a significant transformation driven by the need for enhanced employee engagement and retention. The REVAMP (Revitalizing Veterinary Teams, Amplifying Fulfillment and Purpose) coalition was established to tackle these challenges front and center. Led by industry luminaries, including Richard Goldstein, DVM from Zoetis, REVAMP seeks to unite veterinary practice leaders in an effort to develop a productive and fulfilling work environment.
Key Areas of Focus for Veterinary Teams
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), there are three main pillars at the heart of REVAMP’s mission: enhancing the utilization of credentialed veterinary technicians, fostering a supportive workplace culture, and integrating modern technology. Each pillar aims to provide clarity and structure, creating opportunities for career development while reinforcing teamwork and collaboration within practices.
Innovative Tools for Employee Well-being
The coalition is now launching an engagement survey to gauge the current landscape of employee satisfaction and performance across 100 small animal practices in the U.S. Set to be conducted by Qualtrics, this survey will explore 25 aspects of employee engagement and offer actionable insights for improvement.
Results and Expectations for the Industry
By documenting the experiences and expectations of veterinary professionals, REVAMP aims to share valuable findings at the 2026 Veterinary Meeting & Expo. This initiative not only reflects a commitment to improving veterinary work culture but also represents an evolving understanding of workplace dynamics that can directly influence talent retention within veterinary practices.
For veterinary clinic owners and managers, participation in such surveys could catalyze crucial changes in operations and employee satisfaction, ultimately positioning their practices for long-term success.
